CTA Engineering & Surveying (CTA) was founded in Rancho Cordova, California, by David E. Cooper and Everett E. Thorne (both retired) in 1979 providing services to both the public and private sectors.  During the early years, CTA was well positioned to take part in the dramatic economic growth in El Dorado County.  Since then, CTA's geographic and professional areas of practice have expanded greatly.

CTA continues to be a full service civil engineering and surveying firm providing consulting services to both the public and private sectors with professional registrations in California and Oregon.  Engineering and design services include planning studies, streets, utilities, hydrology, residential subdivisions, commercial, and industrial site development.  Surveying services include mapping, boundary surveying, A.L.T.A. surveys, topographic surveys, construction surveys, and tentative and final map aerial control.

CTA has extensive experience on numerous land development projects in El Dorado and Sacramento Counties, the cities of Folsom, Lincoln, Roseville, and Facaville, and in the surrounding region.  CTA also has experience in public infrastructure projects, which have recently included over 20 million dollars worth of street and utility improvementprojects for the Cities of Folsom, Galt, Placerville, Vacaville, and West Sacramento & El Dorado County.
